Thunderbird Reunion at Ford Headquarters Celebrates 55th Anniversary of Original T-Bird

Classic Thunderbirds Return to Ford Headquarters

Thousands of classic Ford T-Birds are gathering at Ford’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan for a family reunion.

This year, the annual event organized by the  Water Wonderland Thunderbird Club is a festival to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of the original model, in 1955.

The three-day Thunderbird reunion starts on Thursday, June 24, 2010, and includes a BBQ at the Henry Hotel, breakfast at the Henry Ford Estate, a photo shoot at the Ford Proving Grounds test track, a parking space in front of Ford World Headquarters and a chance to drive their Thunderbirds inside Greenfield Village. Nearly 300 T-Birds are registered for the event, and owners from more than 30 states are bringing their Thunderbirds to the program, including from as far away as California.  Of course, there is plenty of time to admire these beautiful, iconic cars — and take photos and chat with their proud owners,  Saturday, June 26, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.

To help celebrate, Ford is asking for  your Thunderbird story and photos, even video, to share on the Ford Facebook page after the reunion event.
