Earth Day 2010 Respect and Protect the Environment

Earth Day 2010 Respect and Protect the Environment

Thursday, April 22nd is the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and there are observances around the world to remind us about protecting and saving our beautiful green earth.  Here is a High Five recognition of some of the biggest planet-friendly Earth Day observances in the USA:

Headquarters for the New York City Earth Day 2010 observances is in and around Grand Central Terminal, with a six-day EarthFest indoors in historic Vanderbilt Hall from April 19th to 24th, and an art exhibit outdoors on April 24th and 25th.

St. Louis celebrates Earth Day on Sunday, April 25th  with an all-day a festival in Forest Park featuring music, entertainment, educational exhibits and local, sustainable food.  The celebration will feature Recycling On the Go, the region’s award-winning recycling and clean up program.

San Diego’s 20th annual EarthFair in Balboa Park is the largest free annual environmental fair in the world, drawing around 70,000 visitors. The event boasts more than 350 exhibitors, a food pavilion, three entertainment venues, the eARTh Gallery art show, the Cleaner Car Concourse and more.  On Sunday, April 18th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Baltimore Green Week is from April 17th to 24th, daily in Druid Hill Park, from noon – 6 p.m.  Events include an EcoFest, an all-local line up of food, green businesses, artists and musicians.

My thanks to the GO Group, the door-to-door Go airport shuttle services, for providing Earth Day information to some of the cities they service in the United States, Canada and Europe.

When you visit these cities, or others, always look for green hotels.
