Paris is wonderful any time of year, but it doesn’t get much cheaper than during Les Soldes, which translates as The Sales. Each January and July, retailers liquidate the previous season’s collections offering reductions of up to 70% off what prices were just before the sales.
All of Paris celebrates the city-wide after-holiday sales. From January 6-9, 2010, there are street parties with live music, dancing, wine tastings, and gastronomic events. Many shops stay open late, even on Sunday, and there are multi-lingual shopping ”concierges” on hand to show you around the neighborhoods and guide you to specialty shops.
